How To Add Google Apps MX For Domain

Description:

Google apps is the mail service from Google.Previously Google provide mail service with the domain name with unlimited email accounts.From 2013 January mail accounts was reduced to 10 email accounts.later from May 2013 Google apps are paid versions.After configure Google apps need to update MX entries and cname records.

Steps:

Google Apps MX entries and cname records can add in two ways,

1.Domain Control Panel Level

2.Hosting Hosting panel Level

Domain Control Panel Level:

Mx entries and cname entries can update in domain control panel using manage dns.Here is the entries for Google apps,

MX Server address         Priority
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.            10
ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.    20
ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.    20
ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.            30
ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.            30
ASPMX4.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.            30
ASPMX5.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.            30

After MX entries enter cname record as follows,

Record Type    Record Name

cname        ghs.google.com

Hosting Control Panel Level:

Hosting control panel also there are difference with windows and linux hosting.Normally windows hosting is simlimar to Domain control panel.

Windows Hosting:

Parallel plesk control panel is the one of the supported windows hosting control panel.Here is the steps to update mx entries,

– Log in to the hosting control panel.

– Click on DNs settings.

– Update the below records,

MX Server address         Priority
ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.            10
ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.    20
ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.    20
ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.            30
ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.            30
ASPMX4.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.            30
ASPMX5.GOOGLEMAIL.COM.            30

After MX entries enter cname record as follows,

Record Type    Record Name

cname        ghs.google.com

Linux Hosting:

In Linux hosting we have update two records for Google apps.One mx entry and another one is cname record,

– Log in to whm/cpanel.

– Find DNS Edit option.

– update the below records ,

 Record Type         Record      Value 
MX           aspmx.l.google.com   10

cname              ghs.google.com
