Bangalore: Bangalore is the first city in India to get Wi-Fi connectivity hot posts from Silicon Valley. It is gifted with 6 Wi-Fi hot posts titled ‘Namma WiFi’ from government. The signals can be captured from the following areas ‘MG Road, Brigade Road, CMH Road and some bus terminals like Yeshwanthpur, Koramangala and Shanthinagar.
Citizens of Bangalore can utilize this service for three hours or the usage can be 50 MB with 512 kbps speed. As soon as the users login to this account a OTP(One Time Password) is issued from the network. You will be assisted with an app from google play to access the account from particular spots. Other mobile portals like windows phone 8,ios are not necessary for this particular app. There is no need of 2G or 3G for net accessing in these specific areas.
At MG Road it is facilitated with 23 access points with the huge amount of 2400 users can access the net at the same time. It is also available at 28 other locales. This facility is available with the mutual collaboration of State IT and ICT(Information and Communication Technologies) groups as per the Indian Express.
As per the Minister of It department, S.R.Patil ‘Wi-Fi is very beneficial for the people who are interested in online shopping, government schemes and it encourages several other technologies to introduce. Some government services like Sakaala and Bangalore one can also be accessed with this particular Wi-Fi.He is very happy for this most awaited facility to develop in the city which is the capital for IT in India.
This prestigious project was developed by the D-Vois Broadband private Limited for free which was their dream for business of this company’s managing director Ramesh Sathya.
There are several projects in the pipeline of the company to develop facilities like traffic management, parking and even garbage maintenance.
The government of Karnataka is also planning this facility for 10-15 more cities. Some cities which are in the process of developing this technology are Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli, Dharwad and Belgum.
Some other cities of India are looking forward for this technology to implement. As per the Mumbai Mayor Sunil Prabhu, there are discussions going on this project to implement but there are some concerns regarding security aspects.
